The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

This book was fast-paced. Initially, it gave me Knives Out kinda vibes but later I don't know why the story of Emily, Jameson and Grayson just gave me tvd vibes (Damon, Katherine and Stefan)
If I talk about the book
I liked the plot but the execution was poor.
I just kept on going because of the plot as it was interesting. But other than that - the writing was very bad and the plotting of the clues in the story was so amateurish.
Also, the main character had no personality. She was so boring. In starting 50 pages it also felt like the author was telling us the personality of the main character without giving/showing reason for that personality.
For eg.
*Alisa assured us. “Mr Hawthorne bought the land the House is built on more than fifty years ago and spent every one of those years adding onto the architectural marvel he built there. I’ve lost track of the total number of bedrooms, but it’s upward of thirty. Hawthorne House is … quite something.”
That was the most information we’d gotten out of her yet. I pressed my luck. “I’m guessing Mr Hawthorne was quite something, too?”
“Good guess,” Alisa said. She glanced back at me. “Mr Hawthorne was fond of good guessers.”
An eerie feeling washed over me then, almost like a premonition. Is that why he chose me?*
She literally searched and read about Mr Hawthorne on the internet. The lady was describing the house as 'it's quite something'. And what do you mean by you pressed your luck? You didn't even say something intelligent. You just said 'I guess Mr Hawthorne was quite something too'. Like seriously????
And she is being appreciated for this stupid remark. I MEAN SHE JUST GOT A COMPLIMENT AS A GOOD GUESSER BECAUSE SHE JUST REMARKED THAT MR HAWTHORNE IS QUITE SOMETHING AFTER THE LADY SAID THE HOUSE IS QUITE SOMETHING.
And then she is thinking, that is why the guy chose her cause she is a good guesser.
NOOO, YOU DIDN'T EVEN GUESS ANYTHING.
If I talk about other characters, I loved Grayson the most. Author has worked hard so much in giving each brother a unique voice and personality that she forgot to work on the main character.
And this whole love triangle was unnecessary. Grayson wasn't in the picture that much. I don't know why she made this love triangle when it wasn't even required in first place. But still Grayson >>>Jameson
But the ending was so disappointing.
All those games n clues just to use her as a pawn.
