the writing, characters, and even the plot aren't all that remarkable, and it was kind of a slog to get through during the middle section, but i like the themes, and it kept me entertained, which is a win in my book. plus, the ending? the plot twists? hell yeah. (and dont get me started on "i could set this world on fire and call it rain.")
