I would read an entire book about Frankie and Johnny's butch4butch relationship. This book at it's core is about capitalist oppression, whether that be by gender, sexuality, race, workplace. I started and finished this in two sittings beside a duck pond in Wales. Waiting for my partner to get off work. both of us being trans and genderqueer and this book really spoke to me at how things have changed and how things are similar to now. Transgender identity has always been a fluid and complex way of being. Exclusionist, terfs, and trans medicalist try to put androgyny and gender into specific labels and places. the only person who can understand your gender is you, and that's your journey to undertake.
