Love a good soccer romance but I clocked that it was inspired by Ted Lasso immediately lol. I also don’t like when romance novels are intensely aware that they are in a romance novel due to being avid readers of them or whatever, like all the talking about different tropes and recognizing when a trope is happening to them drives me crazy. The best way to use tropes in a romance is having the characters unaware that it’s a thing! Anyways the story was good and the characters were fun but it’s a pet peeve.
