This is the second book and the Bargainer series and I don’t think it quite lives up to the first book. It is fairly slow-paced and my brain often wandered to other things while I was reading. I will say that there was a fair amount of world building. Des takes Callie on a tour of his realm and all the different islands that he commands. She also takes a trip to the Flora realm so we as readers get a slightly more comprehensive look into the different realms. Over the coarse of the book Des starts revealing more about his past which I really enjoyed reading and it answered some questions that were brought up in the first book. This book does not fix any of the problems with Temper’s character. She has the potential to be a more dynamic character, but she is still just a side character who pops up on occasion to help Callie and then fades back into the background again. I was really hoping she would have a bigger role in this book. Overall I thought this book was ok.
