James Acaster's Guide to Quitting Social Media by James Acaster

James Acaster gives us another terminal intensity commitment to the bit in this 'self-help' book. I think some people thought this might be a bit more serious-serious, bc Acaster has gotten off social mediums, but what this IS, is a how-to book that farcically figures out how to do all the things he used to do on social media, only in real life: from the good to the annoying to the horrible terrible parts.
I found it was funnier the longer I listened. It builds along the way, and the absurdity doubles downs, compounds and get exponentially more unhinged. I didn't laugh out loud much until the later chapters, but I do admire all the through lines and how neatly tied up it all is. I definitely agree with those who say that this is best listened to; can't really imagine ever eyeball-reading an Acaster book.
