Big Panda and Tiny Dragon by James Norbury

5.0

A cynical part of me finds these inspirational books a bit twee and overly sentimental. This sneering side of my personality struggles to digest the sickly sweet messages inside this kind of thing. But there's another part of me that does actually connect with the simple messages and soothing art work. There's a lot of consolation and reassurance on offer in this book and I found my initial cynicism melted away and I was won over by the charming book. I should add that I am hugely prejudiced in favour of anyone lined to Samaritans, so finding out that James Norbury is a volunteer made me warm to him and his book more and that bias is factored into my rating.
