Anatomy: A Love Story by Dana Schwartz
3.0

2.5 stars to the YA gothic horror Anatomy: A Love Story.

I…was mostly bored by this book unfortunately. It took me almost half to book to really be pulled in and the ending just didn’t really work for me (and felt rushed in comparison to the slow start). I do however adore the cover design and would love to have a print of it.

The premise was intriguing - a young noble Scottish woman must use the services of a body snatcher so she can study anatomy to become a doctor. They begin to notice a string of disappearances and murders and decide to try to figure out what is happening before more go missing.
I did like the setting of Victorian era Scotland, it added some pretty good atmosphere to the story.

I did enjoy both Hazel and Jacks characters and their interactions, and I did root for Hazel in her quest to become a doctor in a time where women couldn’t be doctors.

Overall an okay read, with a gorgeous cover.
