The only reason it gets an extra star is because I really did thoroughly enjoy this book otherwise. If it went in ANY other direction at the 75% mark, it would’ve been 4 stars easily.

I knew the “remember” line existed, but holy crap that scene was so much worse than I anticipated. I can write my own novel at how enraged I felt at that scene, the entire Max plotline, and the entire last 75% of the book, but I’ll leave it at this: Alex Volkov (who I don’t even really like) sold his company to move to London to grovel for over a year for pushing Ava away to protect her, and Josh, who maliciously and purposely chose his words and actions to inflict THE MOST damage on Jules that he could, gave her space for a few days and acted possessive and grumpy while she caught up with a friend and was forgiven? I have NOT forgiven him.

So sad because I loved the build-up of their relationship and felt like there was good chemistry.
