Igraine the Brave by Cornelia Funke

5.0

This was so cute! What an adorable and fun read. I can imagine kinds ADORING this, as the story is so fun.

Igraine is a wonderful heroine, and I know I would have loved this when I was a kid. I was very into girl knight stories (ie anything by Tamora pierce - Alanna and Kel). She's a great role model for young girls - brave but still scared of spiders! She's definitely the hero of her own story. She's clever and fun and I love it.

The whole plot about the parents turned into pigs is so fun! There are no real high stakes or risks here, but it was just so light and enjoyable that it didn't really matter. This book is going straight to my classroom.
