Ziggy, Stardust and Me by James Brandon
4.0

Because I still (and will forever) miss Bowie, this book jumped right out to me. I've been wanting to read it for months, waiting and waiting and waiting for it to finally be published. I was not disappointed!

The voice in this novel was so present, I felt like I was having a conversation with Jonathan. What he felt, I felt. This novel was a powerful experience and I will be recommending it to everyone I know.

At first, I was thrown by the format of Jonathan's thoughts. All of the onomatopoeia was a bit overwhelming, but as I got further and further into it, I was able to set the way it irked me aside. I was able to allow the story to be told as it was and really ended up enjoying it.

The only reason this ended up being 4/5 was that I felt some of the characters to be stereotyped. Mostly Web and his family. I felt his character and his background was a story that needed to be heard, but the way he and his family spoke...came across as a white guy writing a Native American's voice and I wasn't in love with that.
