Was I Ever Real by Naomi Loud
5.0

Did I stay up until 4 am to read finish this knowing I had to be at work the next day? Why yes, yes I did.

This book was just as beautiful and emotional as the first.

Both characters hiding their true natures and traumas by harder exteriors.

Lenix has escaped a religious cult and made a new life for herself. She has fought through the brainwashing of her childhood to become the person she wants to be.

Connor had to become the devil. He’s the leader of a crime organization and came at a cost. A cost the Devil he became was willing to pay.

They can’t fight the need to be in each other’s orbits. They also can’t stop the need to fight period.

They had me laughing out loud and crying.

The past lives aspect continues to be so interesting and attention grabbing.

Another banger from Naomi. This author does a phenomenal job writing characters and the mental health issues they face.
