Vengeance of the Pirate Queen by Tricia Levenseller
5.0
adventurous emotional mysterious tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

While I enjoyed Alosa very much, I never considered her my favourite character nor really connected with her.  I preferred the side characters, including the women on her ship and Kearan.  So much more seemed to exist with the characters, especially Kearan.

I fell in love with Sorinda and Kearan, especially with their banter in the earlier books and how much they seemed to care for each other (not that Sorinda would ever admit to such).  This book was full of adventure, yes, but it included beautiful character growth, acceptance and possibly love of one’s self, and a female who won’t give up, especially not while captain.

This had such beautiful flashbacks and self-discovery that I couldn’t rate the book anything but five stars.
