The Shadows by Alex North

4.0

“Red hands, red hands, red hands everywhere.”

the first few chapters was reeeally slow to my liking and i ALMOST DNF it but im glad i didnt stop reading. i couldnt stop reading eversince. it has such a good pace and does not bore you with info dumping. you really get to be with paul during his childhood flashbacks and also his frustration. i love alex north's writing style.

it was an amazing and eerie experience for me. i mostly read this book before i sleep so sometimes i got spooked out because of some of the scenes. and charlie?? freaky as fuck, i would definitely not interested to be involved with him luls. and that first twist?? i was soooo shocked. i had to reread some chapters to make sure which part is real etc.. and i really love the topic of lucid dreaming. would love to try it myself but im worried things will go south lmao.

okay.. the chapters leading to the ending was a bit confusing for me and the reveal was like a big bold ???? THATS IT ???? to me.. the ending was the only thing that effects my overall rating.

but still, loving it for this spooky month!
