thistlebeclover 's review for:
We Were Liars
by E. Lockhart
Actual Rating: 4-4.5
I didn't expect the plot twist. I've seen mixed reviews, but maybe I was like Cady, and I didn't want to see what happened. The only reason this went down a bit is indeed the nouns as descriptors. It was confusing when Cady had an issue and your lead to believe it's something else entirely than migraines. Other than that, I like the plot. Beginning was slow, but I pretty much finished this book in one night.
Spoilers from this point on:
Where do I start. I have so many quotes I want to add to goodreads. Be a little kinder. I can't believe the Liars were dead that whole time. Was Cady hallucinating? How did they operate the boat and go to town? That meant she was by herself - and her mom had a right to worry. And the fact she was the one to come up with the idea to burn down that house and kill them. Yet she could never tell anyone.
This book is so interesting to think about now, though. I wonder if Granddad was to blame, or was it Cady.
