Beautiful Day
by Elin Hilderbrand
2.5 stars rounded to 3
I am a huge Elin Hilderbrand fan, and while this book really played to her strengths: the beauty and charm of Nantucket, family drama, an air of mystery, and a couple of unexpected twists… this book had a odd underlying themes of both racism and homophobia that seemed to do nothing to further the plot, and were unapologetically included.
So while this was an entertaining story and one I enjoyed, I couldn’t in good conscience give it a higher rating.
