BOY! Steve Harvey laughed all the way to the bank!
This book is not for the weak of heart, weak mind, or a weak spirited woman. My first thought of this book is this is for a very young inexperienced young lady ranging from 16-14. Mind you, I got this book from the library for my 19 year old daughter, and even she laughed at this book! and was not interested in reading it. So, I decided to read it for the heck of it. Any woman over the age of 24 should know some of these common sense things. You should know better than to give your "goodies" away, but this would be a woman's preference. Many women in this day don't mind casual sex.
I do agree that real men have a desire to provide, protect. I do believe a woman should never be so eager for a man she set all her standards aside. She should never compromise herself, and she should never be clingy. And I do believe from day 1 she should make her expectations known. No need to waste his time or hers.
There were only a few things I agreed with in this book, and most of it was just "filler" pages for instance the chapter on "Mama boys" WOW!!! Really Steve, it is a woman's fault eh. Well, I personally had a Mama's boy, and made it very known it was not acceptable and it changed nothing! but that is just it isn't the key word is BOY, I had a boy and not a MAN.
Ladies, use your common sense when dating, real men are real men. Boys are boys, you have to have enough sense to decipher the difference.
I went through the comments trying to find a man who read this book because I was interested in reading their point of view, interestingly I have not found one comment yet. I don't agree with how to get the ring, because if you set a standard for marriage and you are marrying a boy and not a man, you are setting yourself up for a failed marriage.
If you are with a man, and he has made it very clear about marriage, then you need to find the strength to move on and let it go. If I had set the standard for marriage, and please know I did, I was blessed enough that this man was so against marriage, I was blessed to walk away and saved myself a divorce!!!
Relationships are complicated, and really. both candidates should some if not all the same interests, goals, morals, and such. To me this is what makes a strong relationship. If you use your common sense than every thing will be ok.
Women who compromise, are the women who lose. So don't compromise, know your standards and stick with them.
