This story is competently written and is easy to read. The mystery at the beginning is set up fairly well. It was intriguing that the first perspective is from who we assume as the reader is the killer, that is something I haven’t seen done that much.

Unfortunately the rest of the book is a fairly standard crime mystery whodunnit. I had an idea who the killer was somewhat early on based on what the description focused on. There was too many instances of info dumping plot and backstory revelations, sometimes to characters who had no business knowing about any of this stuff.

There were also mysteries I was interested in that had unsatisfying conclusions, and everything was wrapped up neatly in the end. It was ok, but not amazing.
