Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.
I got 35 pages into this novel and realized life is too short to read books I don't like.
I heard amazing things about this book and had high expectations – I wanted to learn, to feel seen, and to relate to this novel, but unfortunately for me it fell very flat from page one. The voice of Doyle is such a white feminist voice that takes itself very seriously (ie I was not getting any substance from it, it was all earnestly stated cliched metaphors). For me, there wasn't anything groundbreaking in this book and I stopped because I expected it to read the same way throughout.
