I really enjoyed how this book was able to weave together multiple different perspectives, along with the fantastical without feeling cheesy. This book is based on the true migration of thousands of college and middle school students in China during the late 1930s/ early 1940s. I always enjoy a historical fiction book that feels more real than fiction, which this book was.
