First of all, I love the quote the book starts with! - “I threw myself to the wolves, only to learn the tenderness of their howl, and loyalty in their blood.” Isra Al-Thibeh

The Book
It was hard to pick this book up after the last book. I almost didn't finish the series, but I'm soo glad I did! Avalon was a bad bitch through and through, however, at times she was too hardened and lost sight of herself. Lucy Smoke did a very good job writing her as characters through their trauma and emotional/mental turmoil.

“Don’t ever let anyone think they can hurt you and get away with it,” she says. “Because if you do, they’ll only keep coming back.”

Avalon dedicated her time to finding Corina, Ace, and Patricia to exact her revenge for the torture, rape, and almost murder they set up. She finally found out why they did what they did!

Abel and Braxton's fathers were planning an overthrow of Dean's father, and since Avalon's father was an Eastpoint heir- Chaz Mason- that makes her an heir as well.

Patricia had merely nurtured a survivor. Corina had awakened a monster.

Dean and Avalon <3
I love seeing how these two loved each other in their own way. They were fucked up and beautiful at the same time! Goes to show that's how you become when you grow up how they did!

I loved this ending! I loved their banter, till the end!!

I pause right before his lips and smile. “I plan on doing that for the rest of our lives, but the marriage bit, well … I guess I can do that.”
