I’m crying as I try to share my thoughts on this book. 😭
Dustin Thao, it’s your fault if this sadness stays with me for weeks.
Once again, this book shattered my heart, just like You’ve Reached Sam did.
Eric’s situation was so overwhelming that he created an alternate reality, imagining people to help him cope during his darkest moments. That feeling of “everyone you love leaves” was so heartbreaking that it made him push them away first, just to shield himself. The book moves quickly, and so do your emotions—you barely have time to breathe before the next wave hits.
The epilogue made my heart scream, but also healed it a little. Kudos to Dustin—I’m hoping for a future where Eric’s heartbreak is mended by Haru’s love. 🥰♥️
I truly hope anyone going through what Eric experienced finds a way to be okay.
