Homer & Langley by E.L. Doctorow
4.0
An interesting and ultimately beautiful book. I didn't get the genius of the construction of it until in the book, but it's kind of perfect. I was craving more detail and thought the narrator limited scope distanced the reader from the action but in effect it gives the reader and writer more focus and more room interpretation--rather than getting bogged down in the minutea (ironically). Elegant and human. This is the first Doctorow I've read and I"ll definitely read more.
