This is a memoir stitched together from essays, but Nguyen does a solid job of structuring things into a narrative. Her writing is both very introspective and very private, which she acknowledges. Some readers will be put off by questions left unanswered, but I liked how she navigated those choices.

Could be a very satisfying book club pick.
