There were a lot of ways this story could've gone sideways. By creating a character who deals with something so outlandish and unbelievable the story could have quickly turned into a sci-fi horror plot, but it didn't. For that I am glad. Instead, we were given a complicated, puppy dog character who struggled with something none of us could imagine (and hopefully never will) going through. From the beginning, the story morphed itself from a mystery to a memoir of Eggs and Chloe into a romance. It was overwhelming, it was beautiful, and I really hope there is a sequel here!
