Tyrant's Throne by Sebastien de Castell

5.0

Just when I'm not sure how de Castell can amp up the stakes and outdo himself, he finds a way. This is one of the best endings I could have hoped for, and I am so grateful for everything this series put me through. Even when it broke my heart, it swept me off my feet and made me feel every emotion in the book.

These are some of my most beloved characters, and they were put through the wringer. Brasti and Kest were unflinchingly loyal and full of heart. Valiana and Aline were pure powerhouses. And Falcio went through his toughest trial yet, but still managed to inspire me and shock me in so many ways.

The plot focused more on politics and Law, but I never found myself bored. The pacing and dialogue keep everything moving. Every single plot line, even ones that didn't quite seem as significant, were wrapped up and brought back better than ever. De Castell still had so many surprises that I truly had no idea what would happen next.

It's hard to put into words just how much I have come to love these books and their characters. Everything about them has been memorable, thrilling, heart-wrenching, and inspiring. The writing is simply spectacular and I cannot recommend them enough for lovers of fantasy, friendship, and loyalty. I will be in Awe for a long, long time.
