The Jasad Heir

So I did not expect to be so obsessed with this book this much but here we are! This book hands down did the enemies-to-lovers trope right and I rarely say this given the fact this trope is overused. Our heroine, Sylvia, and male love interest, Arin, have such a slow-burn chemistry that I couldn’t help but curl my toes, squeal at the top of my lungs, and sing a serenade song next to my plushies. Yes, I think my neighbors thought my house was haunted with the amount of times I screamed at their moments.
But don’t be fooled by their chemistry and romance. Not only is it the subplot, but it is quite dark. I could see why some people find their relationship to be an issue, however, try to read and focus on the characters' lines, especially Arin’s lines. It is not black and white.
That leads me to the plot and the main character. I love how Sara did not shy away from showing Sylvia going through an identity problem of accepting herself as the Jasad Heir and the readers see how much trauma she has to deal with. Additionally, as you learn about this world and its characters, you get to see how there is more than meets the eye. I believe that is the fun part of this book.
I’m so excited to pick the second book up! I need to know what happens to Sylvia and Arin, especially from THAT ENDING 🫣
Other remarks:
♡ Arin the MAN you are. I’m about to serenade him with my dance moves so he can be persuaded to live in my hoard of book husband closet.
♡ Sylvia, my baby, let me hug you from the cruelty of this world!!!
♡ Sylvia, Sefa, and Marek need to dress up as The Three Musketeers or the trio from The Wonderpets show cause that’s what their friendship looks like.
