Blood Engines by T.A. Pratt
4.0
This book is gritty, exciting, and intriguing all at once. Marla is a tough, no nonsense heroine that is trying to save herself from a curse. Her quest leads her to San Francisco, which is a bit too clean, except for the dead bodies strewn along her path. There, Marla meets sorcerers of different types, a snake god, and a crazy man in underwear in a cape. Learning about the different types of sorcerers is very interesting, and the snake god gives too-tough Marla a taste of her own medicine, which is refreshing. The entire book is full of nonstop action and twists and turns. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Fans of urban fantasy should love this!
