if a book has me in tears and longing for living then it is an awesome book.
Nora is a character that I can relate so much. The things she was going through, I'm going through so when she makes the big decision to not be living anymore this hurt me so hard. I felt like it was me going through that decision.
Nora was granted with the gift (or curse?) to see what she could've done with her life. and thru her eyes we see that even tho we can change everything with a small decision, that doesn't means that the change will be good. she learned that while feeling in her skin all of the pain she gone through. and we fell the same pain with her.
Nora needed life. she needed to feel alive and to feel that life was to be lived and not survived. she needed to understand that our past decisions can't be changed, and if they were changed maybe everything would be worse (or better, there is no way to know truly). she needed to experience the raw true and we needed to see it with her.
Ms.Elms words that life isn't suppose to have a motive really marked me. I've always tried to find a reason to life and to what happens, just like Nora, and seen someone saying with so much ease that there isn't a motive, felt good; reassuring.
This book was definitely a punch on my stomach and I encountered many triggers with this pages, but in the end, seeing Nora taking her decision felt freeing. it was like a pain that is nice, a pain that makes you feel grateful for your life. this book was like going through a sad day but in the end lying down in bed and watching videos that makes you smile.
