I'm not sure whether I should give this book 2 or 3 stars. I didn't really enjoy it, although the beginning seemed interesting - especially before I learned about Goriot's past. His story kept reminding me of King Lear, except... it was... boring. It’s one of those novels I like and appreciate more after having already read it.
don't think it's a book I'll remember for a long time. I wonder whether I should give Balzac another chance, but I certainly won't do so very soon.
