Rock Icon Ready by Kella Campbell

5.0

I really enjoyed Rock Icon Ready.
I enjoyed the look into Dice, his hidden depths were surprising and heartwarming.
Kimmy is contradictory personality-wise and I'm so here for it. I love her. Her dedication to her job and her friendship with Dice really made her shine as a character. Her family is everything you want a family to be. They're supportive and intrusive in the best way. Sometimes my favourite thing about a book is the family of the characters. It would have been nice to see a little more of Dice's family (aside from the band).
I liked that Crys wasn't as irksome as I found her in [b:Rock God in Exile|54328578|Rock God in Exile|Kella Campbell|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1593761204l/54328578._SY75_.jpg|81409254], which is a good thing, seeing her as a mother was so cute.
Angel seemed very different in this book. In the first two books, it seemed like Angel, Blade, and Dice were a cohesive unit and Easy was the outsider. But in this book, it felt like Dice was the outsider. I did enjoy seeing Dice confront Angel about his attitude toward Dice and Kimmy. Maybe we'll find out why when Angel's book is ready. I feel like there's something going on with Angel and Sally.

To sum up, I found this to be a fun read. The characters worked well as friends and as lovers, there was enough exterior plot to keep the momentum going and build on events and issues from previous books, and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

I received an advance copy, all opinions are my own.
