This was unlike any other book I have read before! I'm very much only just starting my historical fiction journey and this one was right up my alley! It had lots of supernatural and a hint of fantasy which I just loved! It really captured my attention and made me want to carry on reading it! I also really loved learning about different cultures and the folklore within these cultures!

I loved Miss Cassidy's character! She was so mysterious and captivating! I really wish we were able to know more about her backstory and what she is as I felt like this wasn't expanded too much on in this story. I would also love to know more about her sister too. I'm intrigued as to where the story goes in the sequel since this story seemed to wrap up so nicely.

One other thing that did annoy me however was the inconsistencies between the first and third person was very random and unnecessary in my opinion. It really messed with the flow of the story for sure.

All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I would recommend this one to anyone who loves historical fiction with a side of supernatural/fantasy. Or anyone just after a good read!
