BOOK REVIEW:
I almost wish I had read this before I read From Blood and Ash(Poppy’s version). Only to get the perspective that you get with this book first. Casteel is….he’s very tourtured and the things he has to live through makes his reasoning in what he choose to do with the maiden okay. But this book, for me was like a reintroduction to beloved characters that you already love but with this book you fall HARDER. Poppy…..reading from her POV you thought you knew how she had it and how lonely and oppressed she was but from Hawke’s POV it’s absolutely appalling and so very sad with how Poppy is forced to be. Y’all way this book made my heart hurt all over again for my girl…..😩😩
Even though I knew what was going to happen I was DREADING the reveal lol but seeing it from Cas’s POV made the betrayal, better? More palatable? It helped me tremendously to see the lead up to his actions and how he was torn. I will say there is a SHOCKING reveal that I know many readers will be excited for, I know I had to pick my jaw off the floor after I read it. I think longtime readers of this series will have everything they wanted with this POV. And it will give newer readers a different view of how this amazing world started. 5/5 ⭐️’s
