Plutona #5 by Jeff Lemire

2.0

How does the existence of real life superheroes affect kids? Weeeell, like everything else in the human world: some don't care (the meh), some like, some are obsessed, some hate, some are posers who won't admit their interest, yadda yadda. (This isn't exclusive to minors)

Now I'm wondering why I ever wanted to read this.
Thankfully, or not, it was a short series. Thankfully, because it felt done, with no depth, and if it continued in that fashion, it would be torture for me. On the other hand, if it had been better explored and built, it might have made more justice to the gritty story, despite the jerk teens. Tweens?

The story left that feeling we all know: That's IT??
Loss of innocence, growing up, changes. We all love stories about this, but sometimes these expressions are used to make something feel more deep than it really is. It ain't that deep.

Dark ending. Now live with it.
Are we really supposed to believe the cops won't find out what happened, rendering the kids social pariahs? They buried the body. Juvie! Juvie! Juvie!
