Because I lover her other books so much, I think I had really high hopes for Rouge. It wasn’t a bad book by any means, but it definitely wasn’t as good as her others. The pacing seemed off, parts were unnecessarily repetitive to the point that they became boring, some parts were too explicitly told rather than conveyed, and I struggled to connect to any of the characters. The most interesting parts were the flashbacks, but even that at times felt too drawn out.

I wouldn’t say I was disappointed (and I’ll certainly continue reading her books) but I also wasn’t blown away considering I’ve read such great work by her before.
