I definitely enjoyed the second book more than the first! The contents of the first book are heavily built upon in book 2, everything starts making sense. I thought the same about the Caraval series. 

Overall, I enjoyed the pace and character development. Stephanie Garber’s books always have me hooked. I just finished this a few minutes ago and I already have book 3 in my hand. >:)
