Wow. Completely devastating. This was a difficult read.
So much bad shit happened to these two - and they just kept persevering as best they could. Sure, maybe what they ended up doing was a bit illegal, but it's what they had to do to survive. Their strength completely amazed me. Especially Sylvie - I'm not sure I could ever survive that, let alone become a strong woman afterward.
A lot happened in this one. Partly because these two characters are involved in some shady business, so there was pretty much always something unsavoury happening in the course of this book. It was well paced - I just had to keep turning the pages.
