I believe it’s supposed to be a cozy fiction of people finally gaining courage to speak of what was on their minds to people they care about—but only after some interference/nudging from the owner of the Shihodo Stationery Shop.
It’s a collection of 5 short stories, so it could get a little repetitive at the beginning of each chapter. Personally, I thought the prose felt a bit mundane, and filled with quite a bit of technical explanations of things.
It was.. okay, I guess? There were parts that touched me and made me tear up a little (“Fountain Pen” and “Postcards”), but otherwise I was struggling a tad bit to get to the end.
