I read this when it fist came out and recently re read it. While i love the story and the emotional elements of children who want to connect with their godly parents there are things I notice now reading this as an adult. Two major gripes I have about this book are how often Grover was an unnecessary punching bag throughout the story, and
in the beginning when Percy gets to camp half blood everyone expects him to act like finding out greek gods are real is normal and that Percy is the one acting weird. It was a bit that was used so much in that part that it annoyed me.
