The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd

3.0

I really wanted to be into this but I just wasn't. Not sure why. I was hoping for more technical fun stuff in dealing with maps but it was more just a story of adults who could have solved a lot of problems by just telling the main character their dumb adult drama when they were younger. I really only got into this when we got to the small bit of magical realism in the end which I was hoping was more throughout the book. It's well-written and I understand why people would like this book and I didn't hate but I just wanted to love this and I just didn't. So much of this could be solved if people just talked like human beings instead of keeping secrets and owning up to their faults. It was a little exhausting in that sense.
