Paul Tanasin is an ordinary young man plagued by visions of another world. He soon finds out he is the Destined One in the world of his visions Mirandus. Unfortunately, he isnโt the Chosen One for the Light, but rather, he is the prophesied Dark One. I loved how Brandon Sanderson chose to twist the typical fantasy trope of the chosen one. My expectations were not that high because his other graphic novel series (White Sand) is my least favorite of all his works. But Dark One surprised me. I loved the art style and story. Would I have rather read it as a book? Yes (my answer will always be yes to a book over other formats like graphic novels, mangas, or audiobooks), but I enjoyed this nonetheless. And that twist in the end makes me want more.
