Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

5.0

I’ve had this book on my bucket list for years. Despite being a pretty prolific reader , i haven’t read many classics but i always wanted to read Jane Eyre. On a podcast i love , multiple people have mentioned JE as a top 3 book and i decided that now is as good a time as any to just read this.
For the most part , i listened to the audiobook (narrated by Nadia May) and i think it helped tremendously .
As far as the actual novel goes - wow. This is an incredible story . The story telling is fantastic and the language - does take a little time to get used to- is beautiful , descriptive and enthralling .
Even though this was written roughly 170 years ago , i knew surprisingly little about the story of Jane eyre. It made for a fantastic reading experience . I am not much of a re-reader but I’m already looking forward to reading this again some day .
Charlotte Brontë was a gifted story teller . I’m so glad i didn’t just abandon my goal of reading this book.
