Layla Dupree has had bad luck in dating, always choosing the worst men. Then, Caleb, a regular at her bakery, is celebrating a family member's birthday at the restaurant of her latest bad date. He swoops in and proposes that they fake date for one month, to give each other practice for the real thing. As the month progresses, they quickly realize that they have amazing chemistry, and begin falling for one another

I really enjoyed this, it definitely gave me Hallmark movie vibes. I haven't read the first two books in the series, so this is my first time in Lovelight Farms, but I loved every second of it. It's definitely readable as a standalone, although I didn't know what some characters backstories were, obviously. Fake dating is one of my favourite tropes, so I ate this up. I also have learned I adore the sunshine x sunshine trope! I was rooting for these two so badly within the first few pages. This is told in dual POV between Caleb and Layla. Caleb is one of the sweetest love interests I've ever read, a true cinnamon roll, and a CONSENT KING. I loved how much he cared about Layla, he's giving golden retriever, to the max. Layla was also sweet, and their chemistry and sexual tension was off the charts. Their relationship is slow-burn, neither of them wanting to tell the other how they feel. We love mutual pining. Also, in love with the ending, so so cute.

I am taking off half a star because of the third act drama... I knew it was coming... it was just so pointless, I am not a fan of that trope at all.

Definitely going to be picking up the other books in this series as soon as I can get my hands on them!
