Fake It by Lily Seabrooke

4.0

Fake relationship/celebrity romance/low angst.

I was so excited to read this! Not only because fake relationships are my favorite. But we’re finally getting a trans-woman MC! Visibility we all want and need. I’d also like to mention this isn’t a coming out story (which are equally important). I couldn’t think of a better person to bring us this character.

Avery and Holly are yin and yang. Avery is very optimistic and positive, but not in a naive way which I appreciated. Holly is somewhat broody and burnt out, also not grumpy or mean, which yes I also appreciated. Seabrooke really developed both characters well and I felt they complimented each other equally.

All the secondary characters were great, even the villain Mike, who is such a smug, eye roll inducing turd.

And as you can see, this is book 1! I cannot wait to read other love stories Lily writes for this town.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
