I was craving a literary novel, so devoted my one day off to this book. Cooking and cleaning are overrated! A brilliant portrayal of the reality of Indigenous life, battling addiction and dealing with underlying trauma and intergenerational trauma including, but definitely not limited to, the 1864 Sand Creek Massacre and Native Schools. I found the first part of this story a little hard to settle into, although that may have been due to my tiredness; the second half, focused on the contemporary post There There There timeline, worked much better for me.
