The Sixth Wedding: A 28 Summers Story by Elin Hilderbrand

emotional lighthearted slow-paced

3.0

This felt more like a really long epilogue rather than a novella following the characters.

It bounced around between all of our favorites left at the end of 28 Summers, and really requires knowledge of them from that book to enjoy this. Otherwise there is very little character development, it all happened in 28 Summers and this just follows them for Summer #29.

I didn’t mind seeing than Ursula has a mini redemption, but I do not like her and Jake getting back together. Boo to that dating app.

I love the kids getting together, Link and Becca have to be so cute together. That was my favorite thing to come out of this.

I dislike Frey more now, and I don’t think that was supposed to be the storyline from this. But he was rather unlikeable in the first book, and this just reinforced that. He had the least character growth and he was the one I wanted to see it from. What a bummer.

If you enjoyed 28 Summers and wish the epilogue was a little more in depth, then pick this up. But don’t feel compelled if you were not hoping for more at the end of 28.
