About a third of the way through RoW I was informed that this novella had come out and was supposed to be read between it and Oathbringer. I decided to put RoW on a quick pause and knock this out over the weekend, even though it wasn't super necessary to understand the RoW plot. I'm glad I did! I love the story of Rysn and being able to get a look at the world from Lopen's pov was fantastic. Sanderson keeps the hard hits coming with this one, with a focus on how hard it is to be paraplegic, to not speak a certain language when everyone else says it's "easy" to learn, and even how joking at others' expense, even if it's lighthearted, should be taken seriously. A delightful addition to the archive.
