Ike and Buddy Lee were two ex cons trying to stay on the straight and narrow....that is until their sons were murdered in cold blood.
Ike and Buddy Lee's sons were married and their murder was obviously a personal attack against their personal relationship. This thought is solidified when their headstones are smashed to pieces with hate speech spray painted across it.
With the cops saying the trail has gone cold and their sons resting place desecrated the two fathers take it upon themselves to track down their sons killer and get retribution.
This book was an emotional journey to say the least. You are so invested in the fathers finding the killer, healing from their own personal struggles with their sons sexuality, and the overall theme that separates how the world treats different races. With Ike being a black ex con and Buddy Lee being a white ex con, while both criminals their treatment and sentences are vastly different.
On chapter 2 I was fully invested and the suspense this book puts you through will have you at the edge of your seat.
I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a very personal and emotional journey with a "hell yeah" get em vibe.
