Where the Wild Ladies Are by Aoko Matsuda

4.0

This is an interesting collection of feel-good ghost stories, largely centering around women gaining self confidence or helping others to. Just the right mix of bizarre, whimsical, and relatable.

I think I would have enjoyed this collection of loosely related short stories better if I read it rather than listened to it, as the audiobook narrator had a bit of a stilted way of reading (so that's why I'm rounding up on my review here). Also, I didn't realize until I got to the very end that there are explanations about each fairytale or play that the stories are based on - I would have liked to read them together, since I couldn't remember the details from every story by the time I got to the end.
