I really did enjoy this first book and it was compelling enough that I look forward to the rest of the series, but I can't help but feel a bit underwhelmed by how the characters have developed. I'm more intrigued by the potential than by any actual attachment to Ampersand and Cora thus far, but I look forward to what Lindsay has in store.
